Following successful expansion of Operation with the Grant funding support being sourced from State and Federal Agencies, GLOBEX expects to create over 150 new jobs in the Houston area, GLOBEX will cooperate with Akwa Ibom State Government of Nigeria towards
Construction & Operation of Cargo Terminal as well as Completion and Management of the Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) Facility at the State owned Victor Attah International Airport at Uyo in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria. The Project qualifies for the funding support of U.S. & E.U. Export Finance Banks. On completion, the Victor Attah International Cargo Terminal will be a major transit Airport between Houston based Oil Companies doing business in the West Africa Gulf of Guinea Oil & Gas Zone.
Scheduled Flights will originate from Houston, Texas with Equipment and Engineers picked up from the different Oil Companies. Each flight will thereafter continue connecting flights through Victor Attah International Airport to the destination Countries, picking up Passengers and Cargos in return flights through the Airport on transit to Houston.
The proposed Project will involve construction of 96,875 sq. ft. fully fitted Cargo Terminal Facility per approved design, including Low Bay and High Bay Cargo Buildings, Cargo Handling Systems, Air Cargo Processing Building and Warehouses.
GLOBEX is presently in talks with six (6) Oil Companies based in Houston including ExxonMobil, Chevron, Shell Oil, Total, Agip and BP Oil that are operating in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria and other Gulf of Guinea coastline Countries including Ghana, Togo, Benin, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon. The Oil Companies would be persuaded to buy spaces in the chartered B777 Aircrafts that will operate from out of Houston Airport through the Cargo Terminal at Victor Attah International Airport in transporting Heavy Equipment and Spare Parts regularly supplied to support Oil & Gas Operations in the region, as well as fly Engineers & Technicians traveling for routine work shift changes.
Scheduled Flights will pick up Equipment and Engineers from the different Oil Companies, with each flight thereafter continue connecting flights to the destination Countries, picking up Passengers and Cargos in return flights to Uyo in transit to Houston.
GLOBEX is working to enter into Agreement Akwa Ibom State Government towards
completing the temporary MRO Hangar at Victor Attah International Airport. The MRO will start construction as soon as the Cargo Warehouse is completed and operating in place. The Facility will serve as MRO Center for Aircraft range including B737, 200 and 400 Series, Bombardiers, Falcons, Gulf Stream, and other Lear Jets, and also maintain Military MD 3s.
The Facility will further include Aircraft Maintenance Training Center The completed MRO Facility at Victor Attah International Airport will be the only such facility in West Africa.
ExxonMobil upstream affiliates operating in Nigeria are Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPN) and Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Ltd. (EEPNL). Based on Business Model restructuring, ExxonMobil Nigeria is currently engaged in material and asset disposals, including the ExxonMobil Airstrip at Eket in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria. GLOBEX is working on submitting Bid to purchase, upgrade and operate the Airstrip into a strategic Commercially viable Small Regional Airport serving the Transportation demands of the local Oil & Gas Industry.
GLOBEX will continue to grow the Company’s operation in Houston, TX as well have enhanced capacity to get into the Air Cargo Terminal, Victor Attah Airport MRO Projects, and ExxonMobil Airstrip Nigeria Upgrade & Operation Project to provide services to the very viable Regional Oil & Gas Production Market.
